The Geological Society is presenting several educational events this July and August. An Introduction to Achieving Chartered Status with the Geological Society will be held in Glasgow on July 14, 2009, in which Dr. Bill Gaskarth will be giving a talk on the new chartership application procedure introduced by the Geological Society in January earlier this year.
Micro-Analysis, Processes, Time (MAPT) will be held in Edinburgh from August 31 to September 2, 2009, in which Professor Simon Harley of Edinburgh University will discuss the development of new micro-analytical instrumentation and techniques, and the new information arising from application of these techniques and older techniques of microscopic observation and analysis.
