Dumont Nickel announced that its initial leaching tests have reported good metal extraction recoveries from representative samples of black shale from the Speckled Shale project in Alberta, Canada. Simple sulphuric acid leaching tests completed by Dumont reported recoveries from 36-hour leaching at 30C and from 24-hour leaching at 50C: Mo-28% (51%); Ni-89% (70%); U-84% (67%); V-34% (51%); Zn-88% (70%); Cu-53% (57%); Co-86% (69%); Cd-93% (71%); Li-45% (58%).

First Point recently acquired mineral claims on its Letain Property in northern British Columbia. Nickel-iron alloy was observed in 9 out of 35 samples taken from serpentinized ultramafic bedrock while completing a regional exploration program. The disseminated nickel-iron alloy grains reach up to 100 microns in size and occur in an area measuring 300 by 580 meters which is open to the north and south.
